Help could be close at hand for those suffering with advanced melanoma
View a recent TV newsitem about a new melanoma test from Pacific Edge
Scientists say the disease is hard to treat, but the melanoma test they're developing would make it easier to find the most effective treatment.
The test, being developed in a collaboration with Dunedin company Pacific Edge Biotechnology, has passed the first development phase with flying colours.

Research Agreement with the Ludwig Institute and Presentation to American Society of Clinical Oncology Announced
Today Pacific Edge Biotechnology issued a press release announcing signing of a collaborative research agreement with the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. Promising early results for an aggressive melanoma test will be presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting.

Pacific Edge Biotechnology Licenses Multigene Colorectal Cancer Diagnostics for
European Market

Pacific Edge has signed an European exclusive license with Signature Diagnostics
AG on a multi-gene assay for predicting progression of patients with early stag
e colorectal cancer. Upon validation this assay will allow the identification of
patients at high risk of cancer metastasis so that additional treatment can be
offered to prevent or delay recurrence.
Signature Diagnostics is a German diagnostic company specialized in prognostic and predictive multimarker diagnostics in colorectal cancer. Under the terms and
conditions of the license agreement Signature Diagnostics will carry out the retrospective validation, commercial development, registration as well as the marke
ting and sales of the assay in Europe. Pacific Edge will receive a license fee as well as milestone and royalties payments dependent on the development stage of
the product. Financial details are not released. Pacific Edge will also embark
on a collaborative research program with Signature to develop further colorectal
cancer assays.
Colorectal cancer has a large impact worldwide with over 1.1 million new cases annually. The incidence is particularly high in Australasia, Europe and North America. This year over 530,000 people, globally, are anticipated to die from the disease.
Pacific Edge has a number of programs aimed at developing novel tools and methods for the early detection and management of cancers. Its most advanced programs
are in colorectal cancer, bladder cancer and gastric cancer.
