Product Pipeline
Pacific Edge’s product pipeline shows the significant progress since its inception. We are constantly moving the discoveries through the pipe towards commercialisation whilst continuing the focus on the process of discovery.

New projects are also under development:
- An exciting project has been initiated in 2005 on the development of a prognostic tool for malignant melanoma with the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research based in Melbourne.
- The colorectal cancer project has recently delivered results that may lead to a new tool that predicts the probability of rapid disease progression.
- A recent discovery made in collaboration with scientists in the Cancer Genetics Laboratory, Dept of Biochemistry, University of Otago has identified a gene involved in apoptosis. Apoptosis is the genetically pre-programmed mechanism for the death of aged or damaged cells. In cancer this mechanism no longer operates correctly and can be a target for development of therapeutic products. This gene’s role as a potential therapeutic is currently under evaluation.
